A
major challenge is to nurture our youths during the transition towards
adulthood. Especially in the 21st century, where the predominant
stress, is the fear of becoming a social failure, of not achieving
enough. It is scary to contemplate, but many youths have an unhealthy
fear of failure.
Without the right competencies to cope with such challenge, youth are
at higher risk in engaging in undesirable and compromising behaviours
(such as delinquency, drug, smoking and alcohol abusers).
What is “Youth Achiever” Programme?
The ‘Youth Achiever’ Programme is designed to help today’s youth (aged
14-19) develop their critical skills that are necessary for the 21st
century.
Skills such as self awareness to discover their purpose in life, enable
youth to develop character, confidence and values that promote the goal
of healthy behaviour during the transition to the real world.
Leadership,
goal setting, problem solving and interpersonal skills help students to
reach their goals and be more successful academically and socially - at
home, school and in their future careers.
